I’m sure I’ll end out with either a Scooter or old Honda Trail at some point. Unfortunately about all I ever see for sale are Chinese scooters being sold as projects or expensive modern scooters.

I did find this and even though it’s more than I’d consider paying it’s awful pretty. I wonder what the top speed would be with my 6/4, 240lb self on it?

Damn that’s too pretty to ride.

Same here in Detroit. I've been eyeing these 2 tho.

That ct90 looks really good. Both seem like decent prices, but I don’t see enough of either for sale to say definitively.

Any cheap used Vespas around, or Genuines? You’d get the Vespa styling at, hopefully, a not terrible expensive price?

Same here. I wish it was closer to me cause he’s got 2 of them.

While that is hella pretty, you’re never going to want to ride it for fear of it breaking and then if i t does you’ll never be able to source parts.

Do you live somewhere touristy? If so, look for a scooter rental place and see if they're selling any of their old stock. You can find good deals that way.

You'll probably hit highway speed on it. But beware, a vintage scoot like that is not something you want to ride regularly. When it breaks parts will be rare and expensive.

That one would be worth a look if closer. Unfortunately it’s about 2.5hrs from me.

Unfortunately the closest place near me that might have a rental place would be some places around Lake Eerie, and that’s 2.5-3hrs away.

I wouldn’t actually buy a scooter like what I posted unless it was a second or third toy. It’s pretty to look at but every noise would have me terrified wondering what just broke and whether I could find a new one.

Something like that would have to be a second or third toy. Plus I can’t see myself spending that much on a scooter regardless.

I think for my desires a Honda CT-90 might be the best bet. Good parts availability, reliable, and there are trails at my in-laws farm I could have fun exploring. They’ve created a few miles of ATV trails that connect several of their farms.

I’m sure I’d have a blast with any scooter big enough to hit 50 with me on it that I don’t have to worry constantly about what’ll break next and whether I can get the parts to fix it.

I occasionally see Vespas but not very often. I don’t recall coming across any Geniuses though.
